StretchHOLD TEST CAMPAIGN STARTED
In the facilities of TSF, co-owner and commercialization partner of the innovative bolt system for preloaded joints with severe load requirements, the first test campaign of these components has started. Testing procedure is set to repeat the process of preloading and unloading of the StretchHold with two steel flanges in order to check the stability and repetitivity of the preload achieved. Stresses in different as well as main bolt preloads are being registered with a system developed by Boreas NT.
The final aim of these tests is complementing all the certification procedure that has already been started for the use of these components in wind turbines. Some empirical parameters must be demonstrated for the best use of StretchHold in wind turbine joints. Germanischer Lloyd of Hamburg is the certification body selected for this procedure. It is expected to obtain the final approval by mid of 2008.
